Experience
Tai Nahm is an Intellectual Property Lawyer (LSO™), a licensed Professional Engineer (PEO™), and a Registered Patent and Trademark Agent (CPATA™/CABAMC™) with over 20 years of practical experience in IP law gained from working with startups, SMEs, academic institutions and multinational corporations at top tier IP boutique firms and several of Canada’s largest law firms. His practice focuses on the acquisition, exploitation, and management of intellectual property (IP) rights, including patent drafting and prosecution, patent opinions, procurement of trademark and industrial design (design patent) registrations, copyright, licensing, IP due diligence, IP portfolio management, IT agreements, SaaS agreements, and related matters. Tai has helped his clients successfully register hundreds of patents and designs in Canada, the US, and around the world, working closely with reliable foreign associates as required.
Tai is passionate about helping each of his clients, whether large or small, achieve their business goals and objectives by helping them develop an IP strategy with alternative courses of action to help them make the right choice for their business. By opening his own law firm, Tai is excited about the freedom and flexibility this will give him to work with his clients in new and innovative ways that will help them achieve success.
When not immersed in thinking about how to help his clients succeed, Tai enjoys scuba diving, skiing, and going for leisurely cruises in the countryside, whether on two wheels or four. Tai is also an amateur photographer and an aspiring guitarist with a deep respect and appreciation for far more talented artists, musicians, composers, and creators.
